Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead all store operations, including staffing, training, merchandising, and customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. You will oversee ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, and loss prevention while ensuring compliance with company policies and federal/state laws.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on optimizing sales, inventory control, and store safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Certain store locations may give preference to bilingual Spanish speakers.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees and ensure staffing.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, identify gaps and counsel as needed.
• Recommend pay rate adjustments and career advancement opportunities.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings.
• Open and close the store as scheduled, at least twice weekly.
• Analyze operating statements for sales, profitability and turnover; manage expenses.
• Review planning and inventory management to meet in-stock targets.
• Ensure proper merchandising presentation and pricing with fixtures and signage.
• Maintain accurate inventory; control damages and shrink.
• Uphold cashier accountability and cash-handling security procedures.
• Provide superior customer service leadership and a clean, safe store.
• Ensure store is equipped with necessary tools and resources.
• Follow SOPs and complete paperwork on time.
