Job summary

GOLDEN PANTRY FOOD STORES INC seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support the store manager in maximizing sales and profits for a single retail location in Bishop, Georgia. You will oversee daily operations, greet customers, and ensure accurate cash handling and inventory control.

The role requires at least 2 years in retail sales, with 1 year in retail management preferred, plus strong organizational and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of retail sales experience required.
• 1 year of retail management experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead by example.
• Superior customer service skills.
• Basic math skills sufficient to complete orders, inventory, and cash handling.

Responsibilities

• The Assistant Store Manager will provide a management level as an extension to and in support of the store manager within a single retail profit center so that the sales and bottom-line profits are maximized.
• Smile and greet all customers.
• Stand and/or walk up to eight (8) or ten (10) hours per day depending on shift assignment.
• Read, understand, and write the English language at the eighth-grade level.
• Perform basic arithmetic for change, end-of-shift reports, and inventory accounting during vendor check-in.
• Read and understand instructions for operating cash registers, fuel pump controls, money order machines and other equipment.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and stock shelves.
• Read measurements to one eighth inch to determine fuel levels.
• Climb a ladder to clean windows and retrieve materials.
• Sweep and mop floors, dust shelving and lift and carry trash bags to outside bins.
• Move and stock products in cooler and on shelves.
