Job summary

Shoe Carnival is seeking a motivated Store Lead to oversee a department and contribute to a fun, customer-focused shopping experience in a fast-paced setting. You will lead by example, coach associates, and ensure excellent service while driving sales and store standards.

The role offers flexible full-time or part-time hours with opportunities for advancement into management. Strong communication and a team-first attitude are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Confident, takes initiative and leads by example.
• Retail, sales or cash handling experience preferred (at least 1 year).
• Able to learn and operate the POS system.
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be at least 16 years old.

Responsibilities

• Lead a department (e.g., Women’s, Men’s, Children’s) and support store standards.
• Greet and assist customers with a positive attitude.
• Train and guide associates on service, product placement, and cash handling.
• Handle transactions, returns, and till counts as needed.
• Organize merchandise, displays, and assist with truck unloading and floor moves.
• Promote current sales and programs.
• Delegate tasks and communicate clearly with the team.
