Join to apply for the Retail -- Store Environment Team Member role at Michaels Stores.

Store - APPLETON, WI

Maintain a high standard of overall look and feel of the store, including cleanliness and recovery standards, to deliver our Brand Promises. Provide friendly customer service, assist customers in shopping and finding products.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Collecting and disposing of trash following approved procedures.
  2. Dusting and damp mopping floors as per standards.
  3. Moving equipment and products for cleaning and returning products to correct placement.
  4. Cleaning assigned areas with appropriate materials and equipment, including mixing water and detergents if necessary.
  5. Deep cleaning key areas such as bathrooms, breakrooms, entryways, and high traffic zones to ensure safety and cleanliness.
  6. Keeping cleaning equipment organized and notifying supervisors for supply needs.
  7. Proactively identifying areas needing cleaning and completing tasks promptly.
  8. Performing all tasks in compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines.
  9. Maintaining positive interactions with team members and customers, serving as a role model.

Additional duties may include:

  • Providing efficient checkout experiences and handling cash accurately.
  • Engaging customers about Rewards and Private Label Credit Cards, including enrollment assistance.
  • Supporting Omni-channel processes like BOPIS and SFS.
  • Assisting with stocking, truck unloading, and planogram setup.
  • Supporting shrink and safety initiatives.
  • Adhering to SOPs and company policies to ensure compliance.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Retail and/or cleaning experience preferred.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
  • Standing for long periods, moving throughout the store, bending, lifting, reaching, and stretching.
  • Handling heavy boxes and using equipment like ladders.
  • Work may include outdoor tasks, nights, weekends, and early mornings.
