Job description

Join to apply for the Retail Store Environment Team Member role at Michaels Stores.

Maintain a high standard of overall look and feel of the store, including cleanliness and recovery standards, to deliver our Brand Promises. Provide friendly customer service, assist customers in shopping, and help them find what they need.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Collecting and disposing of trash following approved procedures.
  2. Dusting and damp mopping floors as per standards.
  3. Moving equipment and products for cleaning and returning products to proper placement.
  4. Cleaning assigned areas using designated materials and equipment, including preparing cleaning solutions.
  5. Deep cleaning key areas such as bathrooms, breakrooms, entryways, and high traffic zones.
  6. Keeping cleaning equipment organized and notifying supervisors for supply needs.
  7. Proactively identifying areas requiring cleaning and completing tasks efficiently.
  8. Following all federal, state, and local guidelines.
  9. Maintaining positive interactions with team members and customers, serving as a role model.
  10. Performing additional duties as assigned, including providing a friendly check-out experience, engaging with rewards programs, supporting omni-channel processes, and participating in stocking and safety programs.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Retail and/or cleaning experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for long periods, move throughout the store, and perform bending, lifting, and reaching.
  • Ability to lift heavy boxes and access high shelves using ladders or similar equipment.
  • Work may include outdoor tasks and handling of cleaning chemicals.
Work Environment:
  • Climate-controlled public retail setting with some outdoor work and stockroom activities.
  • Work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
