Job summary

Goodwill Retail Store is seeking a Store Supervisor to assist the Store Manager in day-to-day operations, including supervising staff, processing donations and sales, and maintaining a safe, clean retail environment.

You will ensure accurate cash handling, train new employees, and coordinate with management to meet production and customer service goals while upholding agency policies and CARF standards. Weekend, holiday, and evening hours are typical for this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus a minimum of one year related experience and/or training.
• Must have attained 18 years of age.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to speak effectively with customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and donors in a timely and courteous manner, ensuring excellent customer service.
• Maximize used goods processing through proper application of Goodwill techniques, including sorting, preparing and pricing items for sale.
• Ensure that the store and surrounding premises are kept neat, clean and orderly and free of safety hazards; report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Help unload truck as required; sort and grade newly arrived goods.
• Assist Store Manager in training new employees in a timely manner.
• Maintain production areas to ensure ease of operations.
• Close out register for daily total; notify supervisor of discrepancies; make nightly deposits as required.
• Open and close the store in the absence of the Store Manager; direct activities of store personnel; ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
• Maintain store records and report any fraud suspicions to supervisor.
• Comply with CARF, Agency and store policies and procedures.
