Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Perimeter Patrol in Coopersville, MI, to monitor a retail/mall location, deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment. The role is full-time with a pay rate of $18.12 per hour and a schedule that includes evening and overnight shifts.

You will provide exceptional service, conduct patrols, monitor access points, respond to incidents, and document events per site procedures while upholding a people-first culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Background investigation required by federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screen may be required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required depending on state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, employees, and/or vendors by following site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities at a retail and mall location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior common areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, delivery zones, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or potential hazards.
• Monitor access points, observe visitor and vendor activity, and maintain awareness of retail operations to help deter unauthorized access, theft-related activity, and policy violations.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document events according to site procedures.
• Complete accurate activity logs, patrol reports, and incident documentation, and communicate relevant information during shift changes and with Allied Universal leadership.
