Job summary

Vermont Home Center is seeking a friendly, service-oriented Retail Sales Associate to assist customers and ensure an excellent shopping experience. Responsibilities include working the register, stocking shelves, processing inventory, and maintaining store appearance.

The ideal candidate has prior customer service experience and knowledge of cash register operation, with ability to lift 50lbs and work a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, count, write, and communicate clearly and effectively.
• Understanding of sales techniques and best practices in customer service.
• Willingness to work well in a team environment.
• Ability to quickly and accurately work a register.
• Able to lift at least 50lbs.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Greet each customer with a smile and provide assistance while they are shopping.
• Follow all safety and loss prevention procedures.
• Work at a register to ring up and carry out customer sales.
• Collect payments by cash and credit card.
• Issue receipts and refunds to customers.
• Stock kitchenware section as well as appliance and mattress showrooms, do inventory counts, and store maintenance.
• Drive sales by participating in targeted product promotions and initiatives as set forth by the company.
• Develop and maintain solid product knowledge in order to best help customers with their selections.
