Your Day at Lowe's

As a Customer Service Associate, you will welcome customers to Lowe's and assist them in finding the right products and services for their home improvement needs. Your day involves interacting with customers, helping them find and select products, occasionally loading merchandise, and ensuring all their needs are met.

While most of your time will be spent listening to customers, answering questions, and organizing merchandise, your responsibilities may vary by department.

Departments

Customer Service Associates work in departments such as Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services, depending on hiring needs and your skillsets.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional service.
• Assist customers in locating and handling merchandise.
• Stock shelves by replenishing supplies and managing inventory.
• Process orders and deliveries accurately.
• Train in other store areas to enhance customer service.
• Prepare merchandise based on customer needs (e.g., tint and mix paint, cut and thread pipe).
• Guide customers through shopping or checkout processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• 6 months experience using a computer (inputting, accessing, modifying, outputting information).
• 6 months experience with retail technology (smartphones, tablets).
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
• Ability to perform duties that require prolonged standing, sitting, or other activities.
• Ability to lift minimally 25 lbs unassisted or over 25 lbs with assistance.

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 months of retail or customer service experience.
• Bilingual skills.
• Trade certifications related to department (e.g., hardware, plumbing, electrical).

This role does not require regular travel but may occasionally involve travel for meetings, training, or support to neighboring stores.

Working Conditions
