Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to serve as the point of contact for customers, assist with plan-o-grams, stock merchandise, and maintain clean, organized sales floors. You will greet customers, operate the cash register, bag items, and collect payments while ensuring accurate cash handling.

You may also assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners and support with displays. This role involves frequent walking, lifting up to 40 pounds, and a fast-paced work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Able to read and follow plan-o-grams and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Basic cash handling procedures and math skills.
• Ability to operate cash register functions (IBM).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise on shelves or in stock room.
• Build and maintain store displays and plan-o-grams.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise and answer questions.
• Greet customers and operate the cash register to itemize and total purchases.
• Collect payment and give change; bag merchandise.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Restock and rotate merchandise; keep store clean and organized.
• Maintain front-end area and help with sidewalk displays when needed.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
