Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to serve customers, stock and display merchandise, and operate the register. You will unload trucks, maintain plan-o-grams, and help ensure a clean, organized sales floor.

Strong communication and basic cash handling skills are required for daily transactions and customer assistance. Ideal candidates have a High school diploma or equivalent and are comfortable with handheld scanners and merchandise replenishment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; stock merchandise in stock room or on sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays and rotate stock on shelves.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and bag customer purchases; collect payments and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Keep store fronts clean and prepare sidewalk displays when needed.
