Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to act as the point of contact for customers, assist with plan-o-grams, stock merchandise, and protect company assets. You will unload trucks, build displays, greet customers, and handle cash transactions at the checkout.

The role requires basic math and cash handling knowledge, with a high school diploma preferred. You will work in a fast-paced store environment with frequent lifting and walking.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.

• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.

• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; store merchandise in stock room or move to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays and stock merchandise; rotate and face items on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise and assist customers in locating items.
• Greet customers and operate cash register to total purchases and bag merchandise.
• Collect payment, make change, and assist with basic ordering using handheld scanners.
