Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a retail associate to act as the point of contact for customers, stock and merchandise displays, and operate the checkout register with accuracy in a fast‑paced store. You will help unload trucks, stock shelves, and assist customers on the floor while upholding company policies and asset protection.

Responsibilities include maintaining plan‑o‑grams, building displays, restocking as needed, and ensuring clean store conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan‑o‑gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, unpack, and stock merchandise; place items on shelves or sales floor.
• Build attractive merchandise displays.
• Stock and rotate merchandise; keep shelves faced and up to date.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register; itemize totals and bag purchases; collect payment and give change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners as needed.
• Keep front end clean and set up sidewalk displays when required.
