Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a store associate to act as the primary contact for customers, stock merchandise, and support sales floor operations. You will greet customers, locate items, and assist with checkout, while following company policies to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

You will also help set up displays, maintain plan-o-grams, and keep the store clean and organized. This role requires strong interpersonal skills and basic math and cash-handling abilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandising guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and receive/unpack cartons and totes; stock merchandise in stock room or on sales floor.
• Build and stock displays; rotate and face merchandise on shelves; restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise and greeting customers.
• Operate cash register and flatbed scanner; itemize and total purchases; bag merchandise and collect payment.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners as needed.
• Clean and maintain store areas (front end, restrooms, stockroom) and support sidewalk displays when required.
