Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Associate to act as the primary point of contact for customers, maintain plan-o-grams, stock merchandise, and ensure clean, organized sales floors. You will greet shoppers, help locate items, and process transactions efficiently.

Role involves unloading trucks, building displays, and supporting store operations with handheld scanners and basic cash handling. A high school diploma is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; stock on shelves or move to sales floor.
• Build and rotate merchandise displays and face shelves.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise and offer help on purchases.
• Operate cash register, itemize purchases, bag items, and give change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
