Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Associate to act as the point of contact for customers, stock merchandise, and maintain plan-o-grams. You will unload trucks, build displays, and assist customers on the sales floor while following company procedures.

The role includes operating the cash register, handling payments, and helping with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners. A high school diploma is preferred and safety policies must be followed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read plan-o-gram guidance and merchandise presentation.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; stock room or sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and bag purchases; collect payment and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Clean front end of store and help set up sidewalk displays.
