Job summary

Dollar General is hiring a store associate to act as the primary customer contact, help set up plan-o-grams, stock shelves, and maintain store cleanliness. You will assist customers, operate the cash register, and support merchandising and restocking efforts across the store.

The role requires effective communication, basic math, cash handling knowledge, and adherence to safety procedures in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; stock merchandise in stock room or on sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays and rotate stock on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise and assist customers in locating items.
• Operate cash register, total purchases and bag merchandise.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Maintain store cleanliness including front end, restroom and stockroom.
