Job summary

Dollar General in Edmond, OK is hiring a Store Associate to be the face of our busy store, stock merchandise, build displays, and help keep the sales floor orderly and inviting.

You will greet customers, assist with locating items, operate the cash register, handle payments, and support unloading trucks and restocking as needed. This role requires regular walking and standing, and lifting up to 40 pounds, with occasional heavier lifting.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; stock merchandise in the stock room or on sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Greet customers and operate cash register to total purchases and bag merchandise.
• Collect payment and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners as needed.
• Clean front end of store and help set up sidewalk displays when necessary.
