Job summary

Dollar General Store in the United States is seeking a Store Associate to be the point of contact for customers, set and maintain plan-o-grams, stock merchandise, and help maximize profitability and teamwork in a fast-paced store.

You will unload trucks, build displays, stock and rotate items, assist customers, operate the cash register, and support store cleanliness and safety. Prior retail experience is helpful; high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Basic cash handling and math skills.
• Experience with IBM cash registers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; stock in stock room or on sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock and rotate merchandise.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise.
• Clean store areas and facilities; washrooms and stockroom.
• Operate cash register and bag merchandise.
• Collect payment and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners.
• Set up sidewalks displays when necessary.
