Job summary

Dollar General is seeking team-oriented individuals to act as the frontline point of contact for customers, help maintain plan-o-grams, stock and display merchandise, and support store profitability. This role involves unloading trucks, assisting shoppers, operating the cash register, and upholding company policies in a fast-paced retail environment.

High school diploma preferred; ability to lift up to 55 pounds; willing to stand for long periods.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Good communication and safety awareness.
Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise guidance.
Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
Basic mathematical skills.
Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

Unload trucks.
Receive, open and unpack cartons; store merchandise or move to sales floor.
Build merchandise displays.
Stock merchandise; rotate and face shelves.
Restock recovered merchandise.
Assist customers by locating merchandise.
Bail cardboard and take out trash; dust and mop store floors; clean restroom and stockroom.
Comply with company policies and procedures.
Greet customers.
Operate cash register and flatbed scanner to itemize and total purchase; bag merchandise.
Collect payment and make change.
Assist with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners, as needed.
Clean front end of store and help set up sidewalk displays when necessary.
