Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a team-oriented associate to serve as the front-line contact with customers, assist in executing plan-o-grams, stock merchandise, and maintain store presentation. You will greet shoppers, operate the cash register, and help unload trucks while upholding company policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities include stocking, pricing, and assisting with merchandise orders using handheld scanners, contributing to a fast-paced environment and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; store merchandise or move to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock and rotate merchandise on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Greet customers and operate cash register to total purchases.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners.
