Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Associate to serve customers, stock merchandise, and support store operations. You will follow planograms, operate the register, and maintain clean store areas to ensure a positive shopping experience.

Responsibilities include assisting customers, unloading deliveries, building displays, and helping with merchandising and pricing tasks in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise in the stock room or on the sales floor.
• Build and arrange merchandise displays per planograms.
• Stock, rotate and face products on shelves; restock as needed.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise and answer questions.
• Operate the cash register, total purchases and bag items; handle payments.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners when needed.
• Maintain store cleanliness including front end and stockrooms.
