Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Retail Team Member to serve as the primary customer contact, assist in arranging plan-o-grams, stock shelves, and maintain store cleanliness. You will help customers locate items, operate the cash register, and ensure accurate transactions in a fast-paced environment.

Role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to store policies, and daily responsibilities such as unloading trucks, restocking merchandise, and setting up displays.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; store merchandise in stock room or move to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays and stock accordingly.
• Rotate and face merchandise on shelves; restock recovered items.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and bag merchandise; collect payment and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners as needed.
• Maintain clean store front and assist with sidewalk displays.
