Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to serve customers, stock shelves, and operate the register. You will help set up displays, manage plan‑o‑grams and merchandising, and maintain a clean, organized store environment.

You will greet customers, assist with locating items, and process transactions at the cash wrap. This role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and adherence to procedures in a fast‑paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan‑o‑gram and merchandise guidance.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and ensure merchandise is unpacked and stored properly.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; stock merchandise on shelves or sales floor.
• Build and rotate merchandise displays; stock and restock as needed.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise and answering questions.
• Operate cash register and flatbed scanner; total and bag purchases; collect payment.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners as needed.
• Maintain store cleanliness including front end, restrooms and stockroom.
• Greet customers and comply with company policies and procedures.
