Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to serve customers, stock and display merchandise, operate the register, and assist with inventory and store cleanliness. You will help maintain plan-o-grams, assist shoppers, and ensure accurate checkout procedures in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include unloading deliveries, stocking, and helping customers locate products while upholding safety policies and company procedures. This role supports store profitability and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.

• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.

• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; store merchandise in stock room or move to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays and stock shelves; rotate and face items.
• Restock recovered merchandise and assist customers in locating items.
• Greet customers and operate cash register to itemize and total purchases; collect payment.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners as needed.
• Clean front end of store and assist with sidewalk displays.
