Job summary

Squishable, a playful plush brand with a loyal fan community, seeks a Retail Sales Lead to drive the in-store experience in our New Jersey location. You will partner with the Store Manager to execute strategy, coach a team, and deliver memorable customer service.

The role requires leadership, organization, and a passion for people, with a flexible schedule including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Compensation ranges $17-$18 per hour.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Align store actions with company priorities in partnership with the Store Manager.

• Act as a brand ambassador in the local market or mall.
• Resolve customer issues with a forward-thinking approach; collaborate with the Store Manager and District/Regional Manager as appropriate.
• Develop product knowledge for in-store products.
• Assist in supervising the team daily, weekly, and monthly and support growth.

What does a Squishable Retail Sales Lead do?

• Understands organizational objectives and makes decisions in partnership with the Store Manager that align with company priorities and values
• Enforces sales strategies, initiatives, and growth across all categories
• Holds self and the sales team accountable for personal sales productivity
• Acts as a brand ambassador in the local market or mall to drive brand loyalty and business (e.g., charity events, local associations, mall initiatives)
• Resolves customer issues with a solution-oriented, forward-thinking approach; partners with the Store Manager and/or the District or Regional Manager as appropriate
• Develops individual and team product knowledge to stay up to date on all current Squishable in-store products
• Assists in supervising the team daily, weekly, and monthly to meet goals and use company tools; empowers others and encourages individual growth

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant supervisory experience in a high-volume, fast-paced, challenging, and creative customer-facing environment
• Passion for people! A dynamic and engaged leader with a passion for empowering, inspiring, motivating, teaching, and developing team members
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with the ability to balance priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, ever-changing, and highly entrepreneurial environment
• Feedback is a gift! Able to receive and provide constructive feedback and recognition to every team member, so we keep an open and transparent culture of high-performance standards
• High emotional intelligence, with the ability to work with and manage diverse teams by being empathetic, intuitive, self-motivated, and driven

• Willing to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Able to transport stock as required, including lifting cartons up to 25 lbs.
• Must be 18 or older

Compensation

Pay range is $17.00-$18.00 per hour
