Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Retail Associate to act as the primary point of contact for customers, help set plan-o-grams, stock merchandise, and maintain store appearance. You will greet customers, operate the register, and assist with inventory and merchandising tasks to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

The role requires strong communication, basic math, and cash-handling skills. This is a full-time position with responsibilities across stocking, cleaning, and assisting

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; stock or display on sales floor.
• Build and organize merchandise displays; rotate and face stock.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise and checking out.
• Operate cash register, process payments and bag items.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety; comply with policies.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
