Description

This position has primary responsibility for sales activities including greeting customers, answering questions, suggesting/upselling products, offering samples, processing payments, keeping the selling floor stocked, addressing customer complaints, and assisting in merchandise display.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Recommends, selects, and helps locate or obtain merchandise. Answers questions regarding the store and its merchandise.
• Computes sales prices, totals purchases, and processes payments.
• Keeps clientele informed about sales and upcoming merchandise of interest.
• Maintains knowledge of current sales, promotions, policies on payment and exchanges, and security practices.
• Tickets, arranges, and displays merchandise to promote sales. Assists with inventory, including receiving and stocking.
• Communicates necessary information to Supervisor regarding products and customer requests.
• Handles merchandise exchanges, returns, and special orders.
• Ensures cleanliness and organization of work areas.
• Requests ID from guests purchasing alcohol when age is questionable (under 30).
• Complies with regulations on food quality, cleanliness, sanitation, alcohol service, and safety.
• Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Availability to work nights and weekends.
• Regularly required to move about and operate tools and equipment.
• Must be able to move up to 42 pounds frequently.
• Specific vision abilities include close, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Alcohol service certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
