Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a team-oriented Associate to serve as the customer point of contact, assist in setting and maintaining plan-o-grams, and stock merchandise to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

You will unload trucks, build displays, stock and rotate items, operate the cash register, assist shoppers, and keep the store clean and organized. A high school diploma is preferred; prior retail experience helpful; this is a fast-paced role in a dynamic neighborhood store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; stock merchandise in stock room or on sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register; total and bag purchases; collect payment and give change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners as needed.
• Clean store front, restrooms and stockroom; set up sidewalk displays when needed.
