Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to act as the primary contact for customers, assist in setting up plan-o-grams, and stock merchandise to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking shelves, building displays, assisting customers, and operating the cash register. A high school diploma is preferred, with strong communication and safety awareness essential.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.

• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; stock merchandise in stock room or on the sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Bail cardboard and take out trash; dust and mop store floors; clean restrooms and stockroom.
• Greet customers.
• Operate cash register and flatbed scanner to itemize and total purchases; bag merchandise.
• Collect payments and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners.
• Clean front end of store and set up sidewalk displays when necessary.
