Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Retail Associate to be the front-line contact for customers in our New York stores. You will help set plan-o-grams, stock shelves, assist shoppers, and maintain store appearance while protecting company assets.

As a team member, you will unload trucks, build displays, welcome customers, operate the cash register, and follow store policies. A high school diploma is preferred, and basic math and communication skills are essential to succeed in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Basic mathematical skills and ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise.
• Build merchandise displays and rotate stock on shelves.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register, total purchases and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using scanners as needed.
• Keep store clean and comply with company policies.
