Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to act as the point of contact for customers, assist with plan-o-grams, stock merchandise, and maintain displays. You will greet customers, operate the register, and help with stocking and housekeeping tasks to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, scanning and receiving merchandise, and assisting with ordering as needed.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise in the stock room or on the sales floor.
• Build and maintain merchandise displays and rotate stock on shelves.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise and answer questions.
• Operate cash register and bag purchases, collect payment and give change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners as needed.
• Keep store clean, including front end, restrooms, and stockroom.
