Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a retail associate to serve as the frontline contact for customers in a fast-paced store. You will help set up displays, stock merchandise, and assist with unloading trucks while protecting company assets.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, operating the cash register, handling payments, and maintaining clean store areas. Prior experience is not required, but reliable teamwork and basic math are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read plan-o-gram and merchandise guidance.
• Basic cash handling knowledge.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Familiarity with IBM cash registers.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; stock shelves or move to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock merchandise and rotate items on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise.
• Greet customers and operate the cash register.
• Bag merchandise and collect payment; make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Keep front end clean and set up sidewalk displays when needed.
