Job summary

Dollar General is hiring a Sales Associate to be a friendly point of contact for customers, assist with locating and purchasing merchandise, operate the cash register, stock shelves, and help maintain store conditions. This role emphasizes customer service, teamwork, safety awareness, and following store procedures to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting company assets.

High school diploma preferred; physical duties include standing, walking, and lifting up to 40

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
Understanding of safety policies and practices.
Ability to read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guides.
Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
Basic mathematical skills.
Ability to perform cash register functions.
Ability to stock merchandise.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and provide excellent service.
Operate cash register and scanner, itemize purchases, collect payment and bag merchandise.
Unpack, stock, restock, and rotate merchandise on shelves and build displays.
Clean the store, take out trash, dust and mop floors, and help with sidewalk displays.
