Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Associate to act as the point of contact for customers, assist in setting and maintaining plan-o-grams and programs, stock merchandise, and help maximize profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting company assets.

You will unload trucks, stock shelves, build displays, assist customers, operate the cash register, and support merchandising and store presentation. A high school diploma is preferred, and Dollar General is an equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.

• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; store merchandise or move to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Clean store, restrooms, and stockroom; manage trash.
• Greet customers and operate cash register to total purchases.
• Collect payment and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Support front-end cleanliness and sidewalk displays.
