Job description

Position Responsibilities

1. Provide superior customer service by assisting customers in locating and purchasing goods;
2. Operate cash register, ring customer sales, provide accurate change;
3. Display merchandise in an eye-catching and pleasing manner and assure that old goods are removed on a scheduled weekly rotation;
4. Place items on sales floor and maintain a tidy appearance of sales racks;
5. Maintain cleanliness and order in the store;
6. Understand and perform all procedures necessary to meet or exceed the weekly sales and production quota for the store;
7. Maintain an acceptable attendance and punctuality record;
8. Participate in staff meetings and training, as required;
9. Follow all safety procedures; Report accidents/injuries and safety concerns to the appropriate leadership staff;
10. Adhere to two-hour floor check lists as assigned by leadership;
11. Comply with Goodwill’s policies and procedures, including performing assigned duties within the framework of our Guiding Principles;
12. Adhere to dress code;
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Requirements:

1. Must be able to use a cash register, calculator, credit card processing machine correctly and make change accurately;
2. Good work ethic;
3. Must be able to demonstrate good judgment in recognizing items appropriate for sale;
4. Able to follow instructions and comply with policies and procedures;
5. Able to work with minimal supervision;
6. Willingness to mentor and train co-workers;
7. Cross train in the production of goods as well as the sale of goods, as requested;
8. Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays;
9. Able to maintain good relationships with co-workers;
10. Demonstrate ability to safely operate necessary equipment;
11. Must have reliable transportation;
12. Flexibility and willingness to learn;
13. While performing this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, push and pull, kneel, crouch or crawl. Most activities involve repetitive upper body movement and bending. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds (unless otherwise restricted);
14. Must have good hand-eye coordination. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
