Job summary

Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries Rehabilitation Center, Inc. in Loveland, Ohio is seeking 2 part-time Retail Sales Associates to provide excellent customer service and maintain a safe, welcoming shopping environment.

You will work with a team in a fast-paced setting to expedite merchandise for sale and support management. Responsibilities include processing sales at the POS, assisting donors and customers, and keeping the sales floor tidy.

Qualifications

• Able to work a flexible schedule supporting store opening, production and closing operations.
• Able to communicate effectively in English with customers and OVGI associates.
• Excellent sales and customer service skills.
• Able to anticipate customers' needs.
• Proficient with computer system and POS register; able to use a calculator.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, friendly, courteous service to customers inside and outside the store and over the phone.
• Process sales transactions accurately at the POS.
• Work a flexible schedule as set by supervisor, including weekends and holidays.
• Maintain knowledge of merchandise and answer customer questions promptly.
• Maintain dressing room standards and orderly sales floor presentation.
• Execute store security procedures and communicate store messages to staff.

Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries, founded in 1916, is one of the largest providers of rehabilitation services in the State of Ohio. Utilizing our retail store network, we generate sales revenue to support thousands of individuals with disabilities and homeless local veterans.

The Retail Sales Associate provides excellent customer service as a first point of contact with retail customers and maintains the sales floor to ensure an enjoyable and safe shopping experience. Partners with team members in a fast-paced environment to expedite merchandise for sale and display on the sales floor. Provides operational support to management team

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.


• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel and twist for up to 8 hours.


• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds frequently.


• While performing the duties of this job, the employees is regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone.


• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.


• Regular, predictable attendance is required as business demands dictate.

Role and Responsibilities

• Providesprofessional,friendly,and courteousservice toallcustomers insidethe store,outsideofthe store, andoverthe phone.


• Effectively processes sales transactions at the POS, including accurate transaction processing.


• Works aflexible schedule set by the supervisor in supportofthe store opening, production,and closing operationsincludingwork onweekendsandholidays.


• Maintains knowledge of merchandiseand answers customer’s questions courteouslyandpromptly.


• Maintains dressing room standards.


• Maintainssales floor presentation, communicating to management need for additional or removal of product.


• Maintainsanorderlyand clean register area.


• Executestore securityprocedures.


• Communicate store messages utilizing the paging system.


• Performsstorehousekeepingdutiesas neededtoinclude sweeping,mopping, vacuuming, wipingshelves anddusting(includingrestrooms anddressingrooms).


• Assists donors and customers outside of retaillocations,greet donors, receivedonations,and supplydonors with receipts.


• Communicatesourmission and visioneffectivelyto our donorsandcustomers when asking for monetary donations at the POS.


• Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Pay rate: $13.00 per hour.
