Job summary

DICK'S Sporting Goods in Florence, AL is seeking a store Teammate to greet customers, assess needs, and support the shopping experience on the sales floor.

You will follow merchandising standards, help with loyalty program enrollment, and uphold safety policies while creating an inclusive environment for teammates and customers.

Qualifications

• Prior retail sales or customer-facing experience preferred.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull and lift up to 35 lbs repetitively (up to 25 times per hour).
• Ability to work extended periods standing or walking (up to 4 hours).
• Ability to work at heights greater than 4 feet with ladder or lift if needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and proactively understand their needs to support their shopping experience.
• Uphold merchandising standards including floor sets, signage, price changes and inventory presentation.
• Promote store programs such as loyalty participation and card enrollment.
• Adhere to safety, loss prevention, and operating procedures; maintain confidentiality of company information.
• Create an inclusive store environment where teammates and customers feel welcome and respected.
• Support the team with common store tasks as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Overview

• Greet everyone and proactively approach customers to understand their needs and support their shopping experience.
• Uphold company merchandising and presentation standards by following established floor sets, signage requirements, price changes, inventory presentation and replenishment standards, etc.
• Promote company programs (i.e., customer loyalty program participation, warranty sales, private label credit card enrollment, etc.).
• Adhere to established policies and procedures related to safety, loss prevention and standard operating procedures. Maintains confidentiality of all Company information.
• Create an inclusive store environment where everyone (teammates and customer) feels welcome, safe, and is treated with respect.
• Take an all-hands-on-deck approach to support the team across the store.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Prior retail sales, cashier, or customer-focused experience preferred.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull and lift up 15 to 35 lbs. items repetitively (up to 25 times per hour).
• Ability to work extended periods of time (up to 4 hours) standing or walking. Ability to work at heights greater than 4 feet with use of a ladder, aerial lifting device, or platform.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions for short periods of time (up to 2 hours continuously).
