Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a Retail Sales Associate to create a welcoming shopping experience for our diverse community of customers and donors. This role blends customer service with retail operations to transform donations into resources that support our mission.

You will greet customers, process sales at the POS, and help maintain a clean, organized store during evening shifts (4:30pm–8:30pm).

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and offer assistance to provide exceptional service
• Process sales transactions accurately using the Point of Sale system, including opening, closing, and balancing
• Maintain store appearance through cleaning, organizing, and restocking
• Meet daily production goals by processing and displaying new merchandise
• Contribute to a positive shopping environment
• Perform duties as assigned: Bank Running (requires reliable transportation), Pricing, Cross-trained in other Departments

About the Role

Join our team in "Doing the Most Good" as a Retail Sales Associate. We're seeking friendly and enthusiastic individuals who will help create a welcoming shopping experience for our diverse community of customers and donors. This role combines customer service, retail operations, and mission-driven work to support The Salvation Army's community programs. You'll be an essential part of our team, transforming donations into resources that directly support our mission of serving those in need in our community.

Pay Rate: $15.50/hr.

Status: Part-time, up to 28 hours

Hours: 4:30pm-8:30pm (may vary)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers and offering assistance
• Process sales transactions accurately using our Point of Sale system including opening, closing, and balancing
• Maintain store appearance through cleaning, organizing, and restocking
• Help meet daily production goals by processing and displaying new merchandise
• Contribute to a positive shopping environment
• Must also have one or more these three duties:
  • Bank Running (requires reliable transportation)
  • Pricing
  • Cross trained in other Departments
