Kelley’s Market in Machesney Park, IL is hiring Retail Sales Associates to help customers and keep our convenience store running smoothly. You will provide friendly customer service, handle cashier transactions, stock shelves and coolers, and help maintain a clean, welcoming store.

From morning coffee to the last stop on the way home, you’ll be part of a team that makes everyday stops a better experience. The position offers full-time and part-time hours with a pay range of $15–$18 per hour plus

Responsabilités

• Welcome customers and provide efficient service.
• Operate cash register and POS, process purchases and refunds, handle cash accurately.
• Answer questions about products, prices, and promotions.
• Stock and organize shelves, coolers, displays and merchandise.
• Keep sales floor, restrooms, exteriors clean including fuel pumps and car wash where applicable.
• Maintain Kelley’s Café areas and follow food safety procedures.
• Complete shift paperwork and assist with cash reconciliation.
• Follow safety, security, and cash-handling procedures.
• Communicate customer concerns and issues to store leadership.
• Work with team to keep daily store operations running smoothly.

What You’ll Do

Help Our Customers

• Welcome customers and provide friendly, efficient service.
• Operate the cash register and point-of-sale system, process purchases and refunds, and handle cash accurately.
• Answer questions about products, prices, and promotions.

Keep the Store Ready

• Stock and organize shelves, coolers, freezers, and merchandise displays.
• Keep the sales floor, restrooms, and exterior areas clean, including fuel pumps and the car wash where applicable.
• Maintain clean, stocked Kelley’s Café food and beverage areas and follow food safety procedures.

Support Your Team

• Complete shift paperwork and assist with cash and safe reconciliation.
• Follow safety, security, and cash-handling procedures.
• Communicate customer concerns, equipment problems, and other issues to store leadership.
• Work with your team to keep daily store operations running smoothly.

Pay

• $15–$18 per hour, based on relevant experience, knowledge, skills, education, and certifications.
• An additional $3 per hour for overnight hours worked between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.

Requirements

What You’ll Need

• Be at least 21 years old.
• Provide friendly, dependable customer service in a busy retail environment.
• Communicate clearly and work effectively with team members and store leadership.
• Use basic math skills to handle cash and process transactions accurately.
• Be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Stand for extended periods, frequently lift up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Work in coolers, freezers, and outdoor conditions.
• Obtain an alcohol sales operator license where required.

Helpful Experience

• Previous work in retail, a convenience store, or a gas station.
• Experience as a cashier or in another customer service role.
• Experience handling cash or completing shift reports.

Previous experience is preferred, not required.
