Job summary

The IKEA in Elizabeth, New Jersey is hiring a part-time retail associate to help customers, keep the sales floor organized, and support new product displays. You will listen to needs, guide purchases, and promote top-selling items.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years experience in retail sales, preferably in the home furnishing sector
• Warehouse/logistics, inventory, stocking, or shipping/receiving experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment

Responsibilities

• Acting as an expert and consultant on a broad range of home furnishing solutions, products and services to inspire and inform customers, while creating relationships with customers to provide support in-store.
• Keeping your sales floor tidy, priced and fully stocked to give customers a positive shopping experience.
• Assembling display products for the introduction of new products.
• Listening to, identifying, anticipating, and responding to customer needs.
• Maximizing sales, while maintaining profitability, by actively steering customers towards top-selling and prioritized products.
• Analyzing and adjusting sales space capacities based on sales location to secure high stock availability.
• Supporting the implementation and upkeep of planned and promotional activities in, or involving, your product range.

What you'll be doing day to day

JOB TYPE – Permanent, Part-time

BENEFITS ELIGIBLE?: Yes

HOURS – 12-20 hours per week. Must be able to work some weekdays and weeknights, and must have complete open working availability on Saturdays & Sundays between the hours of 9:00AM to 10:30PM.

The hourly pay rate range for this role is $19.91 - $28.12
