Delivers exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects. Identifies customer needs and provides advice and guidance regarding financial solutions that are in the best interests of customers. Works collaboratively within the branch and with BMO partners to deliver the desired customer experience and achieve overall business objectives.

U.S. Only: This position will act as an originator of consumer loans as defined by Regulation Z, Regulation G, and the S.A.F.E. Act. It requires federal registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry. The Bank will guide you on registration requirements. A criminal background review and credit history evaluation are also required, along with restrictions on performing as a real estate agent.

  • Proactively engages with existing customers and prospects, providing needs-based assessments to grow loyalty and identify opportunities.
  • Engages customers to complete needs assessments, identifying financial solutions and preferred banking channels, including retail investments, lending solutions, home financing, and small business solutions.
  • Advises clients on digital and self-serve options to make banking easier, faster, and simpler.
  • Supports customer transactions based on traffic and needs.
  • Builds new relationships by reaching out, generating appointments, and engaging with the community.
  • Addresses questions and resolves issues related to credit audits and quality checks, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Applies risk management frameworks to protect assets and maintain portfolio quality in line with policies and guidelines.
  • Makes credit recommendations for personal lending, including home financing, following sound principles and policies.
  • Collaborates effectively within the branch and market teams.
  • Understanding customer needs related to banking and credit cards, and integrating marketing promotions into conversations.
  • Organizes work information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Finds creative approaches to personalize customer experiences.
  • Contributes to the overall customer experience and business results.
  • May work at multiple branches based on market needs; work schedule may vary.
  • Follows risk and compliance policies to safeguard assets and privacy.
  • Keeps updated on financial services, legal, and regulatory environments.
  • Maintains knowledge of products, practices, and trends, and reports suspicious activities.
  • Ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Handles complex tasks and escalations, analyzing issues and determining next steps.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
    Qualifications:
    • Typically 2-3 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree or equivalent experience.
    • For Canada: Registration to sell investment products, as applicable.
    • Appropriate lending qualifications and designations.
    • Knowledge of personal and small business needs, retail investments, and lending products.
    • Experience in financial services is an asset.
    • Proficient with social media, tablets, smartphones, and online tools.
    • Experience in customer service or sales, with a focus on personal experience.
    • Passionate about helping customers.
    • Results-oriented, collaborative, resourceful, and confident in customer interactions.
    • Strong interpersonal, listening, problem-solving, and flexible response skills.
    • Good verbal and written communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
    Salary:
    $41,715.00 - $63,700.00

    Pay Type: Salaried

    Salaries vary based on location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications, and may include commissions. Part-time salaries are pro-rated. The listed salary is a target for the first year, with total compensation potentially including incentives and benefits.
