Deliver exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects. Identify customer needs and provide advice on financial solutions that are in their best interests. Collaborate within the branch and with BMO partners to enhance customer experience and meet business goals.

Legal and Regulatory Requirements (U.S. Only):

This position involves acting as an originator of consumer loans as defined by Regulation Z, Regulation G, and the S.A.F.E. Act. It requires Federal registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry. A criminal background review and credit history evaluation are also required, along with restrictions on real estate agent activities.

Responsibilities:
  1. Engage proactively with existing customers and prospects, providing needs-based assessments to foster loyalty and identify opportunities.
  2. Assist customers in completing needs assessments, recommending tailored financial solutions across various banking channels.
  3. Advise clients on digital and self-serve banking options to make banking easy and efficient.
  4. Support customer transactions based on branch traffic.
  5. Develop new relationships within the community by outreach and appointments.
  6. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and lending policies during credit audits and quality checks.
  7. Apply risk management principles to protect assets and maintain portfolio quality.
  8. Make credit recommendations for personal and home financing loans, adhering to sound credit principles.
  9. Collaborate effectively as part of a branch and market team.
  10. Understand customer needs for banking and credit cards, integrating marketing strategies into conversations.
  11. Organize work information for accuracy and completeness.
  12. Innovate to personalize each customer’s experience and improve overall branch service.
  13. Contribute to business results and customer experience in the branch.
  14. Work at multiple branches as needed, with flexible schedules.
  15. Follow risk and compliance policies to safeguard customer assets and privacy.
  16. Stay informed about marketplace trends, legal and regulatory changes, and ethical standards.
  17. Maintain current knowledge of banking products and integrate this into customer interactions.
  18. Identify and report suspicious activity related to money laundering.
  19. Comply with jurisdiction-specific legal and regulatory requirements.
  20. Complete complex tasks within established rules, including handling escalations.
  21. Analyze issues and determine appropriate next steps.
Qualifications:
  • Typically 2-3 years of relevant experience, with a post-secondary degree or equivalent experience.
  • For Canada: Completion of registration to sell investment products, as appropriate.
  • Relevant lending qualifications and designations.
  • Knowledge of personal and small business banking needs and solutions.
  • Experience with retail investments and lending products is an asset.
  • Proficiency with social media, tablets, smartphones, and online tools.
  • Experience in customer service or sales, with a focus on personalized service.
  • Strong interpersonal, listening, problem-solving, and adaptability skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organization, collaboration, and analytical skills.
Salary:

$41,715.00 - $67,000.00

Salaried
