A leading company in the retail sector is seeking dedicated individuals for merchandise handling roles. Responsibilities include overseeing the storage and receipt of merchandise while ensuring compliance with safety standards. Candidates should demonstrate reliability, safety knowledge, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, embracing, providing, and leading dominant guest satisfaction at all times.
Effectively maintain backroom standards aligned with CSEP guidelines.
Receive and unload delivered merchandise using required equipment, including manual or electric pallet jacks and forklifts, in a manner consistent with company safety regulations.
Verify the accuracy of delivery by count.
Check received merchandise for quality, freshness, and code date, and inspect for damage, infestation, and sanitation to reduce shrinkage.
Operate balers and load bales onto trailers for credit, along with pallets.
Maintain safe, orderly, and clean storage areas, organizing products for easy and safe access.
Follow company policy regarding back-room security and embrace a shrink-free environment.
Transport merchandise to proper storage areas.
Handle, sort, and store damaged merchandise according to warehouse and outside vendor procedures, and separate damaged shop back merchandise.
Collaborate effectively with other team members.
Perform other duties as assigned by the store director.
Skills and Physical Requirements
A strong orientation toward work, including reliable attendance, good performance, and a desire to learn.
Ability to adapt to changes in work schedules, specifications, and priorities.
Knowledge of safe work practices
Ability to learn, understand, and apply safe lifting, pushing, and pulling techniques.
Must be at least 18 years old to operate equipment such as compactors, balers, manual and electric pallet jacks, and forklifts.
If operating a forklift, must be forklift certified (PIT certified).
Received "dominate guest satisfaction" training.
Ability to work at any location in the district.
Received all necessary certifications.
Work Environment
Ability to move cases of merchandise.
Cold temperatures in winter.
