Job summary

Castle Megastore Group, Inc. is seeking a Purchasing & Inventory Planner in Phoenix to keep product moving from vendors to stores. You will link Buyers, Inventory, Merchandising and the DC, support weekly requisitions, and manage SKUs and POs from entry to approval.

You will analyze sales trends, support lifecycle decisions, and roll out merchandising decks across locations. This is a hands-on, onsite role with occasional travel and a focus on accuracy, teamwork, and proactive problem‑solving.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data analysis for inventory.
• Ability to enter data accurately and generate reports.
• Effective communication across buyers, inventory, merchandising and DC.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the link between Buyers, Inventory Management, Merchandising, and DC.
• Assist Buyers with weekly transfer requisitions and data entry.
• Manage inventory data, upload SKUs, and handle POs from entry through approval.
• Track vendor orders, back orders, returns, and shipping discrepancies.
• Analyze sales trends to support product life-cycle decisions.
• Collaborate with DC staff to ensure timely delivery and flow.
• Roll out updated merchandising plans and new product decks across stores.
• Provide hands-on support in the DC when needed and travel to stores/trade shows as required.

What You’ll Do:

• Serve as the link between Buyers, Inventory Management, Merchandising, and the Distribution Center.
• Assist Buyers with weekly transfer requisitions, product data entry, and recap reporting on sales, gross profit, and inventory results.
• Manage inventory data, upload SKUs, and handle purchase orders from entry through approval.
• Track vendor orders and follow up on back orders, returns, credits, and shipping discrepancies.
• Support decisions on product life cycles by analyzing sales trends and performance.
• Partner with Distribution Center staff to ensure timely delivery and smooth product flow.
• Roll out updated merchandising plans and new product decks across stores, keeping presentations fresh and consistent.
• Contribute hands‑on in the Distribution Center when needed—reviewing received products and ensuring quality.
• Occasionally travel to support store rollouts and trade shows.
• Step in where needed — flexibility and teamwork are key!
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with a sharp eye for detail.
• Subject Matter Expertise in Microsoft Suite – especially Excel and PowerTable
• Comfort with data entry, reporting and systems, balanced with hands‑on merchandising know‑how.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate across teams and departments.
• A proactive problem‑solver who thrives in a fast‑paced retail environment.
• 8‑hour shifts
• 100% onsite
• Regularly spend long hours sitting, standing and using office equipment and computers.
• Must be able to lift up to 30lbs.
