Columbia Safety and Supply is seeking an Inventory Planner / Buyer to manage inventory levels with urgency to meet customer expectations while lean for slow-moving items. You will support stakeholders with daily tasks and contribute to departmental goals in the Supply Chain team in Columbia, Missouri.
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field, 3 years in a Buyer/Planning role, and hands-on experience with ERP forecasting.
The Inventory Planner / Buyer is responsible for managing item inventory with a sense of urgency and focus in order to meet or exceed customers’ expectations while keeping the inventory volume of slower-turning / less profitable inventory categories/items lean. The actions of the Inventory Planner / Buyer as it pertains to managing inventory and vendor relations, reducing expenses, and increasing profit margins, are actions vital to our continued growth and profitability. The Inventory Planner / Buyer will provide support to stakeholders via daily tasks and projects and contributions to personal and departmental goals. Personal goal attainment toward employee development and growth within the organization will be crucial.
