Job summary

ProMedica Toledo seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support dispensing, packaging, and shipping of prescriptions. You will interact with patients, physicians, insurers and manufacturers by phone, helping the pharmacist prepare and dispense medications and maintain daily pharmacy operations.

The role requires a high school diploma and pharmacy technician registration or a pharmacy intern license with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy; Michigan licensing eligibility is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician registration or Pharmacy Intern License with Ohio Board of Pharmacy.
• May be hired with a Registry Technician license if allowed by state laws.

Responsibilities

• Perform data entry and prescription fulfillment activities.
• Package, ship, and track medication orders to patients or prescribers.
• Provide customer service and communicate with patients, physicians, insurers and manufacturers.
• Assist pharmacist with dispensing medications and maintaining pharmacy operations.
• Receive, store and inventory drug orders and supplies; maintain cash drawer.

Job description

Location: Toledo Hospital Department: Pharmacy Logistics Weekly Hours: 0 Status: Per Diem Shift: Variable (United States of America) Job Summary: As the Pharmacy Technician, you are responsible for data entry, prescription fulfillment, packaging/shipping, customer service, and maintenance of pharmacy operations. You will talk to patients, physicians, insurance companies, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and patient assistance programs over the phone. In this role, you help the pharmacist prepare and dispense medications, receive, store and inventory drug orders and supplies, maintain the cash drawer and ship completed orders to patients and prescriber offices. The above summary is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed in this role. It should not be considered exhaustive.

Varied, mostly days Weekend availability as needed

REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent Certified Pharmacy Technician registration or Pharmacy Intern License with Ohio Board of Pharmacy. May be hired with a Registered Pharmacy Technician with restrictions in duties and expectation of Certified License being obtained within 6 months of hire if working in Ohio. Licensed Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern License with Michigan Board of Pharmacy. May be hired with a Temporary Pharmacy Technician License (expires 1 year from receipt) with expectation of Pharmacy Technician license and/or technician certification being obtained within 6 months of hire if working in Michigan. Certified Pharmacy Technician (either PTCB or ExCPT (NHA) exam permitted)
