This is a pool/ as needed position. Candidates must be able to work at least one shift per week or four days per month, with occasional weekend availability. This is not a weekend-only position. The candidate would be required to work retail pharmacy hours (days/PM shift). The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a retail pharmacy setting.
The ProHealth Retail Pharmacy Department has four locations throughout Waukesha County, including Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital, Pewaukee Cancer Center, Mukwonago Campus, and Waukesha Memorial Hospital. We fill approximately 5,000 prescriptions monthly, focusing on personalized, one-on-one patient interactions. Our pharmacy staff collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure all prescription needs are met before patients go home. We primarily serve employees, discharged hospital patients, hospice patients, oncology patients, and patients seen by the Medical Group. Our integration with the healthcare system enhances patient experience and supports safe, informed care.
Tier 1 pharmacy technicians perform basic pharmaceutical duties under the supervision of PHC Registered Pharmacists. They should be proficient in mathematical and pharmaceutical calculations, computer skills, and telephone communication. Responsibilities include ordering and controlling stock, drug selection, non-sterile drug preparation, controlled substance handling, and operating pharmacy automation systems. Retail technicians should also be proficient in insurance adjudication, prescription entry, cash handling, and inventory control.
