Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System is seeking a Retail Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications under direct pharmacist supervision. The role emphasizes accurate, timely handling of patient medications and adherence to Ohio regulations.

The candidate will assist with Meds2Beds enrollment, inventory management, and coordination of prior authorizations, while documenting distribution and processing insurance claims.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Licensure/Certification: CPTB/PTCB certification and State Board registration (required)
• Experience: Six months of experience in retail or hospital ambulatory pharmacy (required)

Responsibilities

• Assist Pharmacists in retrieving, processing, preparing, and distributing medications for patient administration.
• Deliver patient-specific medications accurately and timely.
• Assist with enrollment and processing of Meds2Beds patient medications.
• Maintain inventory, replenish meds, and manage drug stock.
• Assist Pharmacist with medication or patient care issues and prior authorizations.
• Document medication distribution for proper use and reimbursement.
• Enter and retrieve information in electronic health record or prescription processing system.
• Process insurance claims.

Employment Type: Full time Shift: Description: Position Purpose: Retail Pharmacy Technician, within the scope of the Ohio Administrative Code, will provide timely, accurate, cost effective, and patient‑centric pharmaceutical care under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.

What You Will Do:

• Will assist Pharmacists in the retrieval, processing, preparation, and distribution of medications for patient administration which includes: Accurate preparation of patient medications
• Accurate and timely delivery of patient specific medications
• Assist with enrollment and processing of Meds2Beds patient medications
• Maintain inventory, medication replenishments, and drug stock
• Assist the Pharmacist with medication or patient care related issues
• Assist the Pharmacist with prior authorizations for medications
• Documents the distribution of medication for proper use and reimbursement in accordance with department policy.
• Enter information into and retrieving information from an electronic health record or prescription processing computer system.
• Insurance claims processing

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Licensure / Certification: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPT) provided by the National Health Career Association or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification and registration with State Board of Pharmacy (required)
• Experience: Six months of experience in a retail pharmacy or a hospital‑based ambulatory pharmacy
