A Brief Overview

The Pharmacy Technician Hospice Coordinator is responsible for the daily operations of Alternate Care Pharmacy and will complete a variety of tasks. The Technician will coordinate needs of both outpatient pharmacy licenses to maximize efficiency and quality.


What you will do

  • Assist in the daily operations of Alternate Care Pharmacy including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient information, filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting and pouring pharmaceutical drugs.
  • Will be responsible for preparing sterile admixtures in compliance with USP 800 standards, and documenting appropriately, under the direct supervision of the pharmacist.
  • Cross train other staff members on process and workflow for Alternate Care Pharmacy as appropriate to manage workload and department needs.
  • Will oversee schedule of Alternate Care Pharmacy and Pharmacare for both pharmacists and technicians to cover time off and other needs.
  • Responsible to manage inventory needs of both outpatient retail pharmacy’s; including expired medications and overstocked medications.
  • Responsible for overseeing the Bergen County TB program relating to pharmacy needs and pick-ups.
  • Will assist in monthly financial reconciliation needs of both pharmacies.
  • May be expected to deliver pharmaceuticals when necessary to both residential facilities or home hospice patients.
  • All other duties as assigned.


Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience Required

  • Hospital pharmacy technician and IV room experience Required

  • LPT - Licensed Pharmacy Tech Valid NJ Pharmacy Tech License Upon Hire Required
